Audrey is talking more and more but not all the time yet and still gross approximations for some words. She likes to sing nursery rhymes- especially "Sing a song of 6 pence..." with mom. She likes to copy the last few words of all Caitlin's sentences. And understands a lot more things even if she is not saying them. She knows all her colors and asks for things by the color name. Pink drink, red dress, etc. She joins in on night time songs and sings in her nursery class. She improvs songs while caitlin play the piano. We are still on the waiting list for speech therapy at Children's but I am thinking she might be talking great by the time we are off the list 2.5- She was screened in late March.
She is currently in a dress only phase. It makes keeping up on laundry more of a necessity because she would rather be naked than caught in shorts and a t-shirt.
But dresses and princess play are where the girly stuff end. She initiates jumping matches, with the launch pad being the back of the couch and the landing station a pile of couch pillows. She has also had 2 black eyes. She loves cars and trucks, digging in dirt, and playing in puddles, and is excellent at playing ball with dad. She is a better natural pitcher than Caitlin and mom. Caitlin can do better if she watches, analysizes, and focuses on her form. Mom has little hope of pitching to any sort of target.
She finally has been upgraded to the next size car seat, O needed her old one. And loves the big girl seat but cannot always be trusted with the freedom you get from the belt verse the 5 point system. She is testing the waters. Caitlin is a good informant and she is quickly sitting the correct way each time.
Things on the potty training front look bleak but not all hope is lost. She is no longer crying when she comes close to the toilet and will ask for diaper changers when she is wet or poopy. Maybe we will train this summer. She and Olivia are both in the same size diapers so atleast we don't have to buy two sizes anymore.
Her strong will is still here and comes up at some bad times. No tantrums for a while. she just gets silent and walks away. She can do this thing when she is pouting where it will seriously seem like she has quadrupled her weight and it is almost impossible to move her. I was a little Hellian Child too, I guess it is coming back to bite me.
