3 hours and 35 minutes, 3 blisters, 2 somersaults, and 5 bathroom breaks later I finished my first 1/2 marathon. I was blisteringly slow but I got it done.
The crowds were awesome. They braved the rain and early morning to come cheer us on. That's where the somersaults came in. I knew I wasn't setting any time records so I went at a pace that let me keep smiling and if I saw some really great fans, I did a somersault. It was basically drizzling all morning long. I was pretty wet at the end.
Things to know for next time: Alternate water and Gatorade, 3 waters for each G, expect to add about 5-10 minutes for waiting in line, park closer.

Way to go Emily! Looking forward to seeing you when you get back.
A real somersault, not a cartwheel??? You really tucked your head rolled on the ground???? Wow, you really are amazing!!!
Oh did you see anything out of the ordinary while you were running? Someone decided to brave the weather in little more than nothing! Hopefully he wasn't too distracting.
Nice! Way to go, girl! I love that you did somersaults for the crowd. That totally cracks me up. :) It's awesome just to finish up. I'll start training for a marathon after I've had this baby, but I'll probably do a half at some point to prepare. I'm not even going to set a goal for my time. I'll be completely satisfied with finishing. :D hahaha
Way to go!!! You look great by the way!
Sweet! You're awesome.
Congratulations Emily! That's awesome.
