It has been a while

Got to love this slow speed internet thing...
We are doing well here in Ohio- adjusting and trying to come up with a routine only to adapt it in a couple more months. The only thing set in stone at this point is story time on Thursday mornings. I love story time! It is the only day I can get Caitlin up and running without a lot of work. And she sure does love our librarian, Ms. Colleen. The rest of the week patterns need to be established but Thursday is coming about nicely. Thanks Covedale Branch Library!
We thought for a minute about using this spare time to potty train our little princess. Attempt 1: Asking several times daily (still in a diaper) if she needed to go potty and her denying it 100% of the time... Even when I could tell she was pooping! Attempt 2: Elmo underwear and asking several more times each hour- only to be answered in the negative as she leaves a puddle on my kitchen floor. Attempt 3: Get educated! David and I got a ton of books on potty training and decided to bone up on the subject. According to the developmental approach- which we think makes sense- Caitlin has not reached the potty training readiness at this point. We are still trying to get her excited about potty time but not forcing it at this time.
I have been working on getting back to the domestic- grocery shopping, meal planning and cooking, cleaning (blech), etc. Some housework items are more favored than others but I'll take them as they come. My life is pretty mellow as of now.
David is doing alright in teaching. He has some rowdy 6th graders but that is to be expected beit downtown Cincinnati or backwoods Alabama. Kids will be kids. It has taken a little getting used to but I think he is doing swimmingly.
Sorry kids- no pictures this time- slow speed and all. Maybe I will do some posting at the library.
