I decide I worked way too much yesterday and every other day leading to yesterday (10 am-12 am with behavioral meetings, training classes, regular office time, cleaning checks for 2 buildings, and my added closing office shift) so I swapped a few hours around today and made time for a nap and Oprah. It was wonderful. I totally feel like rejuvenated and ready to work like crazy again tonight.
Oprah was talking to amazing children and then ended things up with a talk about the movie, Akeelah and the Bee. It is based on the book of the same name. Akeelah is an inter-city (New York, maybe?) girl from a broken home that has an uncanny knack for spelling and memorizing everything. Though dilligent study and natural ability she gets invited to the National spelling bee. I have no clue how it ends as Oprah would not divulge the secret but I thought it looked enjoyable.
Usually I am quite leary about modern fiction- to the point that I just read the same safe classics over and over again (My copy of the Sun Also Rises is about dead and I avoid Harry Potter and Twillight like the plague). As books are usually a lot better than movies, I think this book will be great.
My curiosity was peaked by this Oprah discussion and I think I might just have found a new book to fill some empty time. (My other books moved to Ohio with the family) David and I were talking the other night about reading a book together while we are apart and I might just suggest this one.
